ABOUT RWCA
Since 1932, the Raleigh-Wake Citizens Association (RWCA) has been an influential factor to support positive and progressive policy. As a community based nonpartisan advocacy organization, our goal is to protect, encourage, educate and help residents in their civic, economic, social, and political advancement. In doing so, we advocate for public policy that positively affects minority and underserved communities.
The success of some of our initiatives is attributed to collaborative efforts. We partner with elected officials, community leaders, civic, social and fraternal organizations to strategize, formulate and produce sustainable outcomes that enhance our city, county and state.
We have identified five target areas to focus our agenda during 2016-17. These targets include transportation, housing, education, economic development and voter empowerment. Individuals interested in aiding to implement our agenda are encouraged to join our volunteer to help build upon our “Legacy of Advocacy.”
RWCA meets on the third Thursday of each month, at the Martin Street Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1001 E. Martin St., Raleigh, NC, at 7:00 pm.
